February 2014

The most exciting thing that happened in February, aside from Cambree's birthday party {which will be a separate post}, was the fact that we got our trip to Disney World BOOKED!!

We're not going until September, but we are SUPER excited to have gotten all the arrangements made!!

We went to Wichita and shopped for a new sofa.

I guess you could say the kids didn't have the greatest time! But then the day was redeemed when we witnessed this as we were waiting our turn to load.

Had we thought that putting a sofa on top of an SUV was acceptable we would have taken the Suburban instead of the feed pickup. Not only did they have this beast on top, but the back hatch was tied down to accommodate some other unidentified piece of furniture. We are clearly inexperienced furniture buyers. This provided us with lots of laughs!

Jeremy helped me fill up some wall space.

This wall looks so bare in this picture! I can't believe I went without these shelves for 2 years!!

Can you guess whose legs these are? Westynn got my phone while it was on the charger by my bed and I bet I had about 25 pictures similar to this one. STINKER!

The kids got all bundled up to play in a little bit of snow. TOO cold for Mom, so I simply took their picture before I sent them out :)

At the beginning of the month we went to Stillwater to see Aunt Janelle and Uncle Jeff's new house for the first time. You would have thought the 3.5 hours was just as long as the 11+ hours it used to take to get to Houston.

Jeff and Jordyn were all dressed up and ready to go to a Daddy-Daughter dance that night. They sure are a good looking couple and it sounds like they had a great time.

IMG_9887

Aunt Janelle let us fix ice cream sundaes one night after baths. I think the Reddi Whip was the favorite part :)

We helped Papa Rodney celebrate his birthday.

{I don't think there are enough candles on that cake!}

And then there was THIS!!!

IMG_9970

Yes, that is the corner of a Dorito! AND THOSE ARE BABY MICE THAT I FOUND IN MY CAR!!!!!

Long story short, a mouse had gotten in Westynn's carseat while it was in the garage and then I put it in the car and it gave BIRTH in there! I ALMOST GRABBED THESE THINGS....OH MY GOSH! Still creeps me out to this day!

IMG_9972

That mama mouse didn't want to come out of the seat very bad. That shovel, murder weapon. Or self-defense depending on how you view mice. I had no remorse, Jeremy felt bad. Life goes on!!!

January 2014

I continue to amaze myself with how behind I can manage to get!  Seriously....it's ridiculous.

So, once again I'll be trying to compile a HUGE list of things we did during an entire month!

I taught Preston some cooking skills.  He commented, "Mom, you know the good thing about learning to cook?  I'll be able to eat in college!"  At least he's getting it :)

20140105_173716

Played some serious board games...lots of strategy involved!

20140106_181511

Westynn played and played with his new castle and knights and kings and horses....

IMG_9679

Then he entertained himself in the sink while I prepped for Cooking Ladies:

We went to OKC to Uncle Russ' house and met Papa Rusty and Jennifer there to have our Christmas together.

IMG_9682

The kids all got their own Kindle Fire's from Papa & Jennifer....happy dances!!

IMG_9690

And thank you hugs

IMG_9694

and then they were engrossed in their games the rest of the day

IMG_9730

Then to cap that day off we took the whole fam-bam to Walgreens to get our flu shots! That was fun :)

Jeremy, the man who has never taken a kid for a vacination in his life, volunteered to go in with Westynn while I continued to work on the paperwork. SUCKER!!! We could hear him screaming through the door...OOPS, I guess I should have warned Jeremy. But, my dark side just couldn't say anything. I had to let that one play out; and of course I got to be the good guy for once when West came out of the exam room. :)

He walked around the store holding his right arm like this while we waited on P & C.

IMG_9736

Then he showed me how long the needle they used was.

IMG_9737

P was a tough guy and made it through without a tear.

IMG_9739

Preston did an AWESOME job of showing compassion for Westynn and really taking care of him. Westynn showed him his battle wound and told him all about it. Preston really listened and empathized with him....makes a mama's heart melt!

IMG_9744

This girl...No Problem! She came out smiling and showing off her guns!

IMG_9751

We went to our friends' the Barlow's in Oklahoma for a weekend visit and the kids had an executive meeting in Melissa's board room! I think it was mostly monkey business!

IMG_9780

The little boys made a ketchup tower at Tucker's...silly boys!

20140125_114952

Dad got the dirt bike that Jace gave Westynn back in running order. THIS was fun to watch....Jeremy trying to keep up with Westynn on the throttle. HILARIOUS!

IMG_9782

IMG_9787

Cambree didn't need help and I don't think she's gone more than a couple of days without riding this thing.

IMG_9793

Finally, we got some good time in on the "court."

Christmas Day

I vow to never get this far behind again....this is torture trying to get caught up!

After all those other fun December actvities, Christmas morning FINALLY arrived.

IMG_9404

Waiting for mom and dad to get up and make it downstairs with the cameras is what I imagine my kids would refer to as torture! In the meantime, they dug wholeheartedly into their stockings.

IMG_9403

Santa brought

A helicopter transformer

IMG_9415

Daisy the Fur Real kitty

IMG_9416

and a 10 gallon aquarium....that leaked 24 hours later and had to be replaced...with a 20 gallon aquarium. Aaack!

IMG_9417

then there was ONE BIG present for the whole family

IMG_9422

A Basketball goal!!

IMG_9424

A few more packages from Mom and Dad...

IMG_9439

IMG_9440

IMG_9448

Then I tortured them one more time by making them take a family photo!!

IMG_9446

By the way, the socks Westynn is wearing...they were in his stocking! It was the first thing he did and it just makes me so happy that he LOVES socks so much. It's really the only clothes he likes :)

After the storm of presents was over, it was time to start Christmas Dinner. We fixed a prime rib for the first time this year and our parents came over to share it with us...along with Jeremy's Uncle Mike. It was my first time to prepare one and I have to say that it was SO GOOD!!! My mom even went back for a second piece...so you know it must have been good :) I didn't get any pictures though because we were so hungry we just dug right in.

It had snowed earlier in the week, but Christmas Day turned out to be a beautifully sunny, mild day. Perfect for a little sledding, snowman building and snowball fighting!

IMG_9523

Before we called it a day Cambree wanted to have in her words, "An EPIC family snowball fight. With ALL the grandma's and grandpa's." So that's exactly what we did...it was so much fun!

IMG_9527

IMG_9532

And yes that is me shoving my daughters face in the snow

IMG_9533

and this is her shoving snow in my coat!

I have to say this Christmas Day probably goes down as one of my most memorable and favorite!
