Photo fun

I have been playing with my PSE 6 software and finally got a page made! I was so excited and think it turned out pretty cute. I can totally see myself being addicted to digital scrapping as much as traditional! I can't wait to try some more things...I really need that laptop computer now (yes, Russ this is a hint)!

A great find

Looking on the web today for some cute file folders I came across these aprons and I have to say that I am in LOVE! I don't know why, but I have a thing for aprons. I think for some reason it reminds me of a simpler time when women took care of the home and made nearly everything from scratch. There are many days when I wish things at our house were simpler, not necesarrily easier, but having less "stuff." For instance, the amount of toys children had could not even come close to the amount that my two munchkins have. And why is it that they can drag every single one of them out every single day? Please tell me this happens somewhere besides just my house! Somewhere in my mind I have made a connection between aprons and peacefulness! I have bookmarked the aprons for now...one of these days things will feel out of control and I will break down and buy one to bring some peace to my life.

County Fair

Yep, it's that time of year already...County Fair time. We started last Saturday with the annual Mud Run. This was the first year that I braved it and took Preston. Well to be honest, I wasn't going to, but Wayland asked him if he was going and I wish you could have seen the look on his face. It's like when a dogs ears perk up and they know something fantastic in just around the corner. He says, "mud run? what's a mud run?" After an explanation, he immediately wants to go....even though the mud run doesn't begin for another six hours! So needless to say, I took the kids and they thought it was fabulous. Preston thought it was so cool to get mud thrown on him by the trucks and cambree liked the "monster trucks." I guess you could say that I am raising a couple of hillbilly children and a definite tom-boy.

Last night was the tractor pull and Preston is now old enough to give it a try. So off we went to the fairgrounds. It's a big tractor for the four year olds to pedal...add to that the fact that it doesn't work properly and they let the dirt build up in front of the sled and you have a non-eventful, somewhat boring tractor pull. The first two kids up did a good job, but then it went downhill from there. I don't think anyone else made it farther than 3 feet. They all gave it a shot though! We stuck around to watch Koby in the 6 year old division and boy did we get a show! He and Chayde Snyder had to have two pull-offs before Koby was determined the winner! He was funny...the first pull he did without hands and lots of facial expression. They had fun and that's what matters. Tonight we are taking a break, but tomorrow morning we are entering some photos in the exhibits, so we'll see how they do.

Today we are anxiously awaiting the arrival of Melissa and Harper. They are going to go swimming with us, Melissa is going to give water aerobics a try, and we are going to have a photo shoot later this evening! We are so excited for all the fun we are going to have today and tomorrow!

Exciting news!

Nope, I'm not expecting! I know, what a disappointment and shock to you all!

I am venturing out into foreign territory and doing something that I am scared to do. I have been giving it a great deal of thought the last 6 months or so and done extensive research in the last few months. And after much, okay a ton, of going back and forth I am setting things in motion and going for it. What is it you ask? I am starting my own photography biz...Sara Stapleton Photograhpy and Design. You can look for more info on my photo blog, and I am taking clients as of now. Regular session fees with be $50, but anyone who schedules a session between now and August 15th will get half off and 1 5x7 print of their choice! Session fee includes session time, handcrafting of photos and online proof gallery.

8 Years...

...of marital bliss! Yesterday Jeremy and I celebrated our 8th anniversary. The years have sure gone by quickly and we have been abundantly blessed. We have two wonderful children who have kept us very busy and keep us laughing everyday. Jeremy brought me these 8 red roses and we all went out for dinner. Okay, so an anniversary dinner with the kiddos may not be the most romantic, but it sure was better than cooking!

Happy Birthday to Aunt Janelle today! I won't tell you how old she is, but she can only claim to be in her twenties for one more year!!! Only two more days until we find out if our new cousin will be a boy or a girl. The kids probably don't care too much, but I can't wait to find out!

New "Do"

Cambree couldn't wait for her haircut this morning! She was up before 7, telling me to "Get up, sleepy head!" It was too cute not to get up. She sat in the chair and did everything that Kelly asked her to do. And of course she loved being fussed over when we went to the bank to show Daddy and Grandma. And again when she went to Shawn's this afternoon! She looks like such a big girl now, no longer a baby. So I guess we have made one of the final steps to toddlerhood! YEAH! Let her know what you think next time you see her!
