Candy from Santa
Today was Santa Claus day in Coldwater!
What fun we planned to have!
First we went to the theater for a FREE matinee movie, The Tale of Despereaux, AND for free pop and popcorn for the kids!! The sorority in town supplies the pop and popcorn for the kids and it is always a big hit in town. THANKS ladies!!
After the movie, Santa and Mrs. Claus come to town on a big, red fire truck and hand out bags of candy to the kids. There are no pictures of the handing out of the candy...as you can imagine what small children getting candy from Santa must be like!!
SANTA...I KNOW HIM (name that movie)!!

Here's Cambree after getting her bag...

Preston gets his bag and waits patiently for the next event...

What comes next is a drawing for lots of prizes from the businesses in town. There are the coveted gift certificates to Dave's Pizza Oven, gift certificates to other local businesses, toys for the kids, and the grand prize TWO bicycles!!
Preston & Kirstin wait for their numbers to be called

Okay, so maybe there was more monkey business than anything!

Kirstin soon gets Preston back in line..."Turn around and listen!"

Vanna White (???) shows up on the firetruck to show off all the toys that are being given away.

After all the toys and candy have been given away, Santa, Mrs. Claus and the elves head back to the sleigh. Christmas is less than a week away you know and there is still so much to be done!

We can't wait to see what he leaves us under our tree!!

Trimming the Tree

A couple of weeks ago, right after Thanksgiving, we got our tree put up and let the kids go to town one Saturday morning decorating it!

We bought some new shatterproof ornaments this year to try and prevent Westynn from destroying too many of them. So that meant that each bulb had to have a hanger attached before it could go up on the tree.

Cambree Jane got pretty clever and decided to fix up several ornaments at a time and take them to the tree...much faster than one at a time!

Monkey see, monkey do...

Westynn was quite entertained with the packaging from the ornaments...

...for a few minutes at least!

When all was said and done, we ended up with a pretty delightful tree!

And I even got to hear a Christmas carol...Jingle Bells I believe it was!

Preston's First Buck...the Video!
Okay, just a note here...this is not the best quality video because I had to record it in 60 second increments from the tape to a memory stick and then edit all the clips together. For some reason when you transfer it to the memory stick the quality really goes down. The upside is that the volume is still great! If you have a problem watching a deer get shot, you should probably avoid this video...or minimize your screen and just listen. You MUST here Preston's reaction. And some of the conversation is pretty good too! If you just want to see the reaction watch the second video, it does NOT include the kill shot!!
Enjoy!
Enjoy!

Sick Baby
My baby got sick yesterday. Nothing serious, a little fever and just not feeling good in general. I came home early from work and we snuggled in the chair until the Ibuprofen kicked in.
THEN, it was as if he was never sick at all!!
Soooo, I may have down this,
while the kids were in the bathtub!
And I may have been ready for bed at 8:30.
BUT I will never tell if that is really what happened or not.
And if you were wondering. The baby is still not feeling well today. I sing the praises of Ibuprofen though, because once it kicks in he is back to his cheerful, wonderful self. AND is helps him sleep better, which makes for a less crabby Momma on sick days.

A First for Preston

This weekend Preston got to go on his first rifle deer hunt and boy was it a weekend to remember!
He came away with this AMAZING 10 point buck!

He was on cloud nine and Mom and Dad were pretty darn proud of him too!
There is a super cute video, courtesy of Jeremy. Only problem is our video camera is a tad on the older side and I had to order a new memory stick and adapter today. So hopefully next week sometime I will have video to post for you!
Until then, these picture will have to do!

Way to go Buddie! What an awesome first hunting experience! We sure are proud of you!!
