That post title gets your mind wanderin', don't it?!
Well this is a LITTLE late coming, but back in May on my birthday, Jeremy had NOTHING for me, so I ....
He actually did, it just didn't come in before my birthday. But, I guess that's what happens when you order your wife's birthday gift from a bait shop in Wichita.
Yep, a bait shop!
Exhibit A - I am NOT a fisherman. I like to go and sit on the bank in a lawnchair and sip ice cold drinks. I don't care to cast a line too often...if it has a bobber, maybe.
Exhibit B - I can think of nothing in recent weeks/months I have mentioned "admiring", "hoping", "wishing" for from the local bait shop.
So you can imagine my surprise when I opened up the long awaited gift.
Okay, so here's the real truth...
I LOVE IT!
I think it's going to be a family affair!
We all love to shoot.
I am going to attempt my first bow-hunt this fall, but I have no grand illusions of shooting a world record whitetail my first year out.
Maybe my second!
I have been telling Jeremy for the entire duration of our marriage that I would hunt with him and shoot with him IF he would get me my own bow. I guess it took him 11.9 years to believe me!
I got pink fletches for my arrows and a pink release, but the release is too small and I have to wait until we go back to a Bass Pro Shop to exchange it for a bigger one. Apparently, my father-in-law had no idea how big my hands are!! He told the guy at the store, "she is pretty small" so he recommended the small size...and it is small! It's just about perfect for Preston.
In the meantime, I am shooting with Jeremy's release and I am not a big fan of it, so I am anxious to get my new release and get comfortable with my own equipment. Even with Jeremy's release I am not doing to shabby! I really enjoy the target practice.
As for actually shooting a live animal and becoming a hard core killer....I guess we'll have to wait and see how that turns out!
