Recent Fun

April showers collage
(Click on the photo if you want to see it bigger!)
What is more fun during the rain than stripping down and playing in it? NOTHING! If you ask my children anyways. During the course of the rain on Sunday afternoon, I washed three loads of laundry, bathed Cambree twice and Preston three times. The most priceless part of the day occured while I was downloading the photos you see here and I wasn't able to document it (one of those times when having a point-and-shoot would be beneficial!) Preston was out riding his bike, supposed to be staying out of the mud, when he got his bike high centered in a puddle. Instead of getting off and moving it, he just kept peddling faster and faster. Well you can imagine what this did....yep, it threw mud all up the back of his shirt and the back of his head. What makes this even better is that he was wearing a brand-new shirt & he had it on backwards. So really, he was destroying the FRONT of his new shirt! The blessing was that he didn't want to wait for me to wash it before he wore it, so most of the mud came right off....don't know what they put on those t-shirts before they send them to the store, but I would like to have some to put on all my kids clothes each morning before they leave the house. Most of the mud just washed right out in the sink. You would never know the trials this shirt has been through!

Easter 2009 collage
And these pictures are from our very abbreviated session in our Easter clothes...before Easter. I had been wanting to take pics of the kids all dressed up and the weather kept being uncooperative, so one evening after work and school I decided it was now or never! So we got all spiffed up and combed and curled our hair and headed out to the park. NOTE TO SELF: parks are not the best location if your children are dressed up and you want their cooperation. All they wanted to do was to play, of course and I promised that when we were all finished we would change our clothes and come back and play. This did not set well with the children and they decided that they were going to make the whole process miserable for all. After about 20 minutes of what felt like pure torture I called it quits and took two crying kids home in the car. I was ready to give up...pay someone else to go through this torture for a few good shots of the kids. I put the memory card in the reader and tried to forget about the park while I fixed supper. Luckily that night the kids were more cooperative and I got a few minutes to peak at the photos. I was totally suprised when I looked and saw that there were more than a couple good ones. I didn't get the genuine smile, photo of the two of them that I wanted, but I definitely captured some personality....just what I see on a daily basis around here. So, in the end I decided that the time and tears where worth it and maybe next time I am the one who needs to be a little more relaxed and just go with the flow....maybe next time we will wait until after we have worn our fancy new clothes to church before we go on the photo shoot....then I probably won't be so uptight about getting clothes ruined!

Enjoy the pics of the kiddos!

P.S. Notice the picture of Preston bustin' out a dance move! LOVE IT!

Great thing about Flickr

Awhile back I was talking with Russ about some of the pics from his travels. He mentioned that he used Flickr to store them because it was cheap & worked as a back-up. At the time I had the free version, and was frustrated by the inability to upload ALL of the photos I was taking. So I went ahead and upgraded to the Pro account....and I am so happy that I did. My blog posting is so much faster and easier now & the kids will sit and watch slideshows of their favorite pictures. I am still working on getting all of my old photos uploaded to the site and organized...one day that too will be accomplished!

Prom!

Yep that's right! I graduated from H.S. ten years ago, but still went to Prom this past weekend! Actually I went to Yukon High's prom to help Melissa out since she is the prom sponsor this year. It was a lot of fun, but I am still trying to recover from a late night out. I guess I am not as young as I used to be! These are a few of my favorite people shots from the day. I will post decor shots later!

Cindy, Harper and Toni bringing donuts and adding
numbers to our crew!

Melissa on the phone with the rental co. to see why they are so late!

(over and hour late)

Larry getting Kady & Rich straightened out at the bar!

(I Love this guy like my own dad....he is great!) More to follow at a later time....have to get caught up around here!

Great deals!

Don't you love it when you have your eye on something...something you really like, that would be perfect, that you spend a lot of time thinking about, something that is just outside of how much you want to pay.....

AND when you go back to look at that something one more time (to see if you are really willing to spend that kind of $$) it is MAJORLY on sale and you get to just purchase it! That just happened to me and I am so excited.

I purchased this crib bumper from Melissa for Baby W....she bought it on clearance at Pottery Barn for $26! How awesome is that?! Well, she actually bought this one and another one and decided to use the other for Owen....lucky me, I get to use this one.

So, I have been on the hunt for something for P's bed that would coordinate...the cowboys weren't doing it for him & they didn't match! Anyhoo, I came across this quilt...

I thought it would be perfect...checked with Melissa (she still has the bumper)...and decided it was going to be perfect. PROBLEM...it was WAY, WAY out of the range I would normally pay for kids bedding. So, I sat on it. Looking for something else, always coming back to this. Well today I found something else that I thought I could MAKE work, but before I committed I came back to this quilt one more time! Boy was I suprised when I clicked on it and low and behold it was on sale. I mean MAJORLY on sale...50%! Sold. I got the quilt and shams for less that I had originally budgeted for P's new bedding! Keep in mind that the sheets won't have planets on them!

Now I will just have to decide on paint colors....the boys room needs to have some serious touch-ups done to the original paint job....bad paint, not bad painters!! So I am thinking I might as well do something completely different!

I also need a dresser for one of the boys. Anyone have one they want to get rid of? I am willing to pay/trade, whatever you need! I am looking for a dresser and not a chest of drawers. Call me if you have something or know where I can get one....again, think bargain!

Okay, I do have a few more church things to finish before Easter Sunday, but I was so pumped about my bargain I just had to share!

P.S. Russ I know that you are probably not going to make it this far through this post, but I know you get excited about good deals as well...the el cameno (how do you spell that anyway?)!!!

Need opinions

I am working on a new biz card for the photog business.

This is the front of the card...which I am pretty happy with, but will listen if you have suggestions.

This is one option for the back.

This is another option for the back.

And I just noticed that my email address is missing the (com)...so assume that has been fixed and give me your opinions about the rest. Which back do you like better? The one with more photos or the one that is more clean? And please don't suggest that I use one of your photos for the background!! :) This is one of my ABSOLUTE favorite pictures of all time! Can't wait to try this one with Owen and Baby W when they get here!
And over on the photography blog I am going to post some before/after pictures of the ironwork that I did last week....you won't believe what a difference post-processing can make sometimes!

Pretty funny

Even if you aren't pregnant, these are still pretty good!

Count your blessings
• The penis of a rhinoceros is 2 feet long.
• The penis of a mosquito is a hundredth of an inch long.
• The praying mantis bites her mate's head off while he impregnates her.
• Elephants are pregnant for two years.
• Many animals give birth to a dozen or more babies at a time.
• Your baby won't be born with hooves.

This was on the belly laughs section of the online pregnancy calendar I use! 20 Weeks yesterday...that means halfway there! Baby W is making himself known a little more each day...and as my mom pointed out tonight, I am starting to get a belly! Proof that yes, in fact, there is something growing in there.

The kids, especially Preston, have been almost insistent to know exactly how the baby will come out of my tummy. So far, I have been able to put him off, but I don't think I will be able to indefinitely. He is just too inquisitive and he forgets nothing. Any suggestions for that topic!

Later I am going to try and post pics from our Easter Egg Dyeing experience last night. But, this will be the second night in a row that I am home alone with the kids trying to get it all done. So, if for some reason it doesn't all get done again tonight....hopefully before Easter!

Happy Birthday Honey!

Jeremy turned 32 today...he's getting to be quite the "old" man! He still looks good for his age though! We have had quite the year since his last birthday, but there isn't anyone I would have rather spent it with and I am looking forward to what all being 32 brings his way!

(Don't worry honey, we all lose our ice cream from time to time!)

This is what you get when you tell the kids to get cheek-2-cheek!

Check out all those blue eyes...delicious!

And this one is just too adorable not to show off!
HAPPY BIRTHDAY JEREMY!
WE LOVE YOU!

still here

I don't know why I haven't blogged in a week. I guess I just haven't felt up to it. Not really much to tell. I sent pics of the massive snow storm we had here....that pretty much tells the story. Trapped in the house with my munchkins for two days and hubby for one day....there wasn't going to be anything but griping if I did post! Friday, the kids and I cleaned and re-arranged their rooms in anticipation of the arrival of baby "W". I know it seems soon, but when I look at my calendar I realize that of the 20 weeks I have left, I only have about 10 work day! YIKES! Anyways, it was more in an effort to finish up Cambree's room and to find out what needed to stay and what needed to be replaced in Preston's room.
Here's a look at Cambree's new arrangement.
Still waiting on help to get things hung on the walls.

Sunday we finally made it out of the house only to have this happen...

Looking back, we should have known this would happen, but we had a great adventure anyway. We played Survivor Man (popular show at our house on Discovery channel). It wasn't too cold outside, so the kids thought it was great fun.

We are getting ready to go to Ardmore to get the Vue....anyone looking for an excellent used car? Know someone who is? We are ready to wheel and deal to get rid of this thing. CALL ME! Seriously, please help me get rid of this thing!

Here's a few more snow pics for you and a couple from what I did yesterday!
