A Little Birdie

If you had driven by our neck of the woods last week, you might have see this...

It's look ominous, but I promise it wasn't!  They had been told not to touch it, so they were using the bats to check and see if it was alive.  What, you ask?

This little fellow had apparently fallen from the tree during the high winds and somehow hurt himself.  The kids watched him for a LONG time waiting for him to fly away, but he just couldn't.  It was very obvious that the kids were making him very nervous, so I did manage to convince them to back up and see if the baby birds momma would come and help him.

Later that day we were coming home from running some errands and the baby had managed to get into the neighbor's yard and out of the street.  Just as we were pulling into our driveway, we noticed the Momma bird come down from the tree and bring her baby some food.  It was so sweet to witness and the kids thought it was pretty cool how he was being taken care of.

For several days, the kids would go out and check the neighbor's yard for the bird.  He was there for a day or two and then he was gone.  We sure hope that he was able to recover and return to the nest.

Pool Daze!

Summer is officially in high gear around here! You may have guessed as much from the lack of posting going on. T-ball is finally over and I feel like life will return to normal, sort of! At least it seems like we can relax a little and enjoy the days.

What have we been doing? Spending our days at the pool...one of our fav places on earth!

Westynn is good for about an hour and then he is ready to head back to the house, get a snack and get cool.  He's not much for being in the sun and being hot.  He enjoys the water though.

He really likes it when Grandma Robin comes to the pool to play. Sometimes she even gets in the big pool and plays, but I am pretty sure that if I put a picture of that on the blog she would disown me. She doesn't look bad at all, but I know she would still dislike having evidence of her in a bathing suit!

Cambree Jane is a F.I.S.H.  She thinks she is a lot bigger than she really is.  Here's a few more pictures of her enjoying her time at the pool.

{I just love this picture...not sure why exactly, but I do!}

{Another Fave!!}

Sorry about all the pictures of CJ, but I just couldn't choose which to share and which to leave out, so you get them all!

Preston is a BIG SHOT swimmer this year. He passed his test which means he can swim in the deep end and go off the diving boards without Mom being down there with him. Mom is not so sure about this, but he is confident he DOES NOT need to be supervised. Little does he know that even though I might not be right there on the edge of the pool, I am watching him like a hawk!! Enjoy some pics of Mr. P.

I am so thankful that my kids are water babies!  It would seem sort of strange to see a mother of three enjoying the pool without her kids, don't you think?  We all come home exhausted and sometimes I wish for the day when I can just be a bathing beauty {wink, wink} lounging on the side of the pool while the kids enjoy the pool with their friends.  But then I remember that by the time they are old enough for that they won't want me there with them, so I will take the exhaustion and the massive amounts of towels that need to be laundered and savor each moment for now!

Converstations

The following conversations/comments are just for my personal log.  I don't want to forget them, they are so sweet.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
In Dodge.
Going to Hobby Lobby.
Kids are asking about lunch.

Me: "You can get Happy Meals if you are REALLY good in Hobby Lobby."
Kids: "K"
Me: "That means no asking for things and no I wants. Think you can handle that?"
Cambree: "I won't ask you for anything Mom.  I will just ask you about Oscar, K?"

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Preston looking through his photo albums.
Browing the first year.

P: "This sure brings back a lot of really good memories."

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Preston combing hair after bath.
Mom in Cambree's room, she hears,

"No more chicken and gravy,
No more lovin' like crazy,
'Till you take me down to the little white church!"

Oh, how I love a good lyric!

Bad Boy

So, Jeremy got to put his mechanic skills, photography skills and bad boys skilz to work this week!  {Oh, I crack myself up!}

The bank repo'd this motorcycle a few months back and now that the weather is nicer they decided it was time to sell it off.  Jeremy got the task on Wednesday of getting it shined up and ready to sell.  He spent some time down there during business hours polishing and photographing.  However, he couldn't get it to idle right, so after a phone conversation with his dad and a trip to the parts store he headed back to the storage unit to see if he could get the beast a going.  He was like a little kid, so excited about his project.  It took awhile, but after some new gas and a jump start, it was rarin' to go!!

The kids were just as excited as Jeremy and thought that he DEFINITELY should buy this motorcycle.  So, after he got it to run past an idle he took the kids {Preston & Cambree} for a spin around the storage unit.  AND, because Jeremy really, secretly wants to be a bad boy, he made me get on and take a ride with him!

The best part of the evening was after the joy rides for me and the kids that Jeremy said, "I am just going to drive out to Feed & Seed and then right back."  Well after what I thought should have been plenty of time for that short trip I told the kids we would wait a couple more minutes and then we would go out to check that everything was okay.  About 2 minutes later, we saw him coming down the highway.  He ended up driving to the lake before deciding to turn around!  What a Bad Boy!

Later that evening he wanted to know what he reallly looked like on the motorcycle and I told him, "Don't worry, you looked real bad!"  We both just laughed!  It does me good to see him show a little excitement about something other than football, hunting and cows.  If I knew the high wouldn't wear off soon it would be so worth it to buy the bike!

Swiming Lessons

We just completed our final day of swimming lessons! We had three days last week and three days this week.

I usually teach the 3 year old and 4 year old classes, but because I was still working at the school last week, another instructor taught them last week.  So on Friday, I was able to just sit back and watch.  It is such a different experience to watch the kids interact with another instructor.

Cambree was her typical self and just swam all over the pool.  She probably should have been in the level I class, but going with the babysitter instead of a parent the first week, I thought it would be better to put her with her friends and where she would be comfortable.

I was disappointed that I didn't get to take any pictures of Preston...Westynn was not having any of it!  Preston did a super job as well.  He was able to move up to the Level II class this year.  They worked on their strokes and perfecting those and even got to do some swimming in the deep end.  Last weekend Preston even passed his test in the deep end, which means that he is now able to go off the diving boards by himself.   I am still the over-protective mom though and I won't let him go down there unless I am there with him.  He is really a terrific swimmer and I am proud of him for working so hard!

We can't wait to start spending the next 5 weeks practicing what we learned at swimming lessons this year!

Where are the words?

Do you ever have the kind of days where you have a TON of things to say, but can't find the "right, politically correct, non-offensive" way to say them?

Today is that day for me!

Dimples

Don't you just wish that dimples were ALWAYS this cute?!!

Can you believe this boy is doing this already?!!!

Is there something I can give him to just keep him like this forever?!!

Did you notice the little curl to his hair?!!

Why oh why does  my BABY have to keep getting bigger and bigger?!!

Is there another little brother on earth that looks more like his big brother than this one?!!

My heart has left my body and I found in the rolls of those chubby baby thighs...oh how the time is passing exponentially faster than it ever did before this little man made his way into my life!
